Frequently asked questions

Is my scanned PDF uploaded?

No document upload endpoint is used. PDF rendering, OCR and searchable-text placement run in your browser with self-hosted Kinumia engine files.

Which languages are supported?

This first browser release supports English, Spanish, or both together. The language models are self-hosted and loaded only when OCR is requested.

Does OCR change the visible scan?

No. Kinumia keeps the original visible PDF pages and adds an invisible searchable text layer to a new copy.

Why is there a page limit?

OCR is memory and CPU intensive, especially on phones. The conservative limit protects browser stability until broader physical-device testing is complete.

Scan documents often?

Kinumia Scan brings scanning, local OCR, organization and private PDF tools directly to your phone.
